Insanity Workout – Day 1

Insanity WorkoutAs mentioned in my last blog post “Insanity Workout – The Prequel” I’ve decided to commit to the Insanity Workout.

Day 1 of the Insanity Workout is the Fit Test. The Fit Test is comprised of a series of 8 exercises of which you do as many reps in a minute as you can for each exercise, with a minute or so break in between each exercise.

My results were as follows:

Switch Kicks: 90
Power jacks: 45
Power knees: 63
Power jumps: 25 – (I had to take my first breather during power jumps)
Globe jumps: 6
Suicide jumps: 13
Pushup jacks: 20
Low plank obliques: 52

Giving a total of 314 reps, an overall improvement of 43 reps when compared to yesterdays trial run.

However, I don’t think I can put this improvement down to the program just yet – it’s probably more due to not having eaten a Thai green curry an hour or so beforehand.

I’ll be taking a ‘progress pic’ one a week so will upload the first weeks results on day 7 compare to a ‘before’ pic from today.

How am I feeling? I did the workout at 7am this morning other than some tired legs, I don’t feel too bad. In fact I’m looking forward to day 2! Bring on the ‘Plyometric Cardio Circuit’ – whatever that may be.
